Research Specialties

Her research focuses on parenting practices, prevention programs, intercultural psychology, and trauma. Dr. Pachan’s doctoral research explored urban parenting practices in Ghana, in west Africa, and she continues to pursue clinical interests in the area of culturally-grounded parenting, international adoption, and acculturation issues. Dr. Pachan holds an academic appointment as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where she teaches in the Kedge program for underperforming undergraduates.
